Jephthah means “God Opens.” It’s not just our name; it’s our mission.
On October 6, 1995, Jephthah Comprehensive Secondary School opened its doors in Port Harcourt with a clear vision: to provide Christian education without compromising academic excellence. We believed Rivers State families deserved a school where faith and rigorous learning work together, not against each other.
Three decades later, that vision has produced graduates studying at universities across three continents. Students who can think critically, lead with integrity, and stand firm in their faith when they leave our gates.

We’re an accredited exam center for WASSCE, NECO, Cambridge GCE, IGCSE, PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Your child isn’t limited to one qualification or locked into one geography.
Targeting the University of Port Harcourt? We prepare for WASSCE and NECO. Applying to UK universities? Cambridge qualifications are ready. Looking at American colleges? We administer SAT and ACT on campus.

The philosophy of JCSS is succinctly hinged upon 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”.
We believe that the Bible is the only inspired and infallible authoritative word of God, who is the author of all TRUTH.
Jephthah Schools offer a complete Christian educational journey, from Nursery/Montessori through Primary to Secondary, with both Day and Boarding options at the secondary level.

Our Montessori-inspired nursery gives young learners a nurturing, play-based foundation in literacy, numeracy, and Christian values, right from the start of life.
Basic 1–6 · Ages 6–11
A rigorous but joyful primary programme covering the Nigerian national curriculum, with STEM enrichment, arts, and scripture, building critical thinkers and bold young minds from Basic 1 to Basic 6.
JSS1–SS3 · Junior & Senior
Jephthah Comprehensive Secondary School (JCSS) offers both Junior and Senior Secondary, with full Boarding or Day attendance, and is approved for WASSCE, NECO, Cambridge IGCSE, SAT, ACT, and IELTS.
